About me

Hi! I'm Michelle, I'm a textile artist in Australia.

I make things.

I believe that small things are important. We can all make small things that make difference to our lives, and the lives of others. Simple, handmade items that bring us joy. You can see some of the small things I make here: https://www.pardalotemakes.com/.

I grew up in Hobart, Tasmania.

I have science degree and am a qualified teacher. I’ve worked in teaching and online education for nearly 30 years. Currently I’m working from home in the mountains and valleys of beautiful North-East Victoria.

I love textiles and beadwork, art and design, mathematics and elegance. I live for the buzz of inspiration and making. I love teaching and sharing, and gentle quiet moments.

If you'd like to find out more about my stitching and how I weaving in my love of the natural world, I gave a webinar with San Francisco School of Needlework and Design that is available in full here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRUkCzNvyTs

I walk in the wild. Some of my old walking adventures are here: https://michellewalks.com/.
